Experience Something Rotten Live in Schenectady
"Something Rotten!" transports its audience to 1595, where brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are struggling playwrights living in the shadow of the rockstar bard of the era, William Shakespeare. Desperate for a hit, Nick consults a soothsayer, who predicts that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing, and acting all at the same time – thus, the world's first musical is born, albeit with some hilariously misguided attempts at plot and song. This side-splitting narrative is packed with anachronistic humor, clever wordplay, and affectionate parodies of classic Broadway shows, making it a delight for both seasoned theatre-goers and newcomers alike. Expect vibrant costumes, energetic choreography, and a score brimming with catchy tunes that you’ll be humming long after the curtain falls. The ingenuity of "Something Rotten" lies in its ability to simultaneously celebrate and poke fun at the very genre it embodies, delivering a truly unique theatrical experience that has captivated audiences globally.
