Experience The George Lucas Talk Show with Connor Ratliff
The George Lucas Talk Show is spearheaded by comedian Connor Ratliff, who brilliantly embodies a fictionalized version of George Lucas. This isn't an impersonation in the traditional sense, but rather a character study that allows for expansive, often hilariously off-kilter conversations. Ratliff's "George Lucas" is a character of endless fascination, frequently discussing his films, his life, and often veering into completely unexpected territories, all while maintaining a remarkably earnest and deadpan demeanor. He is expertly joined by co-host Griffin Newman, who provides the voice of Star Wars character Watto, offering quick-witted interjections and comedic foil, and producer Patrick Cotnoir, who acts as the straight man, guiding the conversation (or trying to) and delivering audience questions. What began as a live, then online, show during the pandemic, interviewing real celebrities and Star Wars actors as Ratliff's "George Lucas," has evolved into a beloved institution. The show's reputation for spontaneity, unexpected celebrity guests, and deep dives into pop culture esoterica has garnered a fiercely loyal following. Seeing The George Lucas Talk Show live at The Bell House in Brooklyn allows audiences to be part of an unfolding, unscripted comedic narrative that often feels like catching lightning in a bottle, showcasing Ratliff’s masterful improvisational skills and the ensemble’s undeniable chemistry.
